Real-Life Celebrities at Instagram & How They Do It

Ever wondered how celebrities built out their Instagram followings? Well, the answer is rather simple. They don’t have to. Their fans search for them themselves by simply using the search function or they visit their fan page/website and find a link to Instagram there.

Then they share it with their friends, and what not, and before you know it a celebrity has hundreds of millions of followers on Instagram. Easy as that.

But are all those followers real?

Nope, the so-called Instagram account management services own an army of accounts, sometimes in the hundreds of thousands and to make these profiles look legit they start following artists, musicians, singers, sports stars, and any other famous person on this planet.

Why’d they done that? Because they have no friends, if you have to generate thousands of accounts you quickly run out of sources to follow so why not follow what everyone else follows.

So next time when you see that your favorite pop star has 100 million followers, there’s a very real chance that as much as 20-30% are actually fake / bot generated accounts to provide an Instagram marketing service.

Instagram strategy for the less famous

They largely have to rely on the same methods that you and I use, or if they have the budget they hire a marketing firm to assist them with that.

To make this article a bit more useful for you, here are some strategies that you can employ:

  1. Promote your Instagram at your other social channels like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and on your website if you have one.
  2. Send out an email to your list, if you have one that is, a list I mean.
  3. Connect with other influencers and offer them something in return, once you start to gain followers yourself you can do an ad swap.
  4. Get a bot yourself to do the hard work for you, there are whole sites dedicated to that.
  5. Participate in conversations that are going viral, and make sure your presence is known.
  6. Use captions, Instagram’s internal search algorithm picks this up so be descriptive there.
  7. Remove tags from your photos that aren’t relevant enough.
  8. Tell people to share, like your posts or follow you, if you don’t ask they don’t take action.
  9. Run a sweepstake at Instagram, plenty of people that love that.
  10. Utilize Instagram ads, you can do this through your Facebook account, very easily.

It’s also important that you make your Instagram profile look interesting.

Here are some quick tips to do just that

  • Write a killer biography
  • Make sure your colors match
  • Don’t switch fonts too often
  • Include a link to your website
  • Use descriptive captions
  • Let your profile image stand out

I suppose that should help you to get started, so go ahead and apply one of these techniques and you’ll be amazed at the results you will achieve!

How to Renovate Your Basement

With space becoming more and more elusive, you need to find a great way to up the value of the home. One of the areas that homeowners are turning to in an attempt to get some more space is through the renovation of the basement. A finished basement is a great place to flex, and if you are looking to add an office or some other space, then you can look to the basement to give you this space.

Here are a few tips to renovate your space to make it more functional for your needs.

Make a Focal Point

When it comes to basements, many homeowners have one that lacks character and no focal points as well. Instead, they all look the same – wide open spaces that have nothing to boast about. One of the top basement tips is to create a central feature for this space, such as a central fireplace so that you can help define the available space and keep things all warm and cozy.

Have Some Windows

Many windows in the basement are relegated to furnace areas and the fireplace. This is a huge waste of natural light. Try to place the windows in a space where you can get to maximize the natural light that is filtering through.

So, try to locate the main area in a place where there is enough light so that you keep everything warm as well as cozy.

Use Different Flooring Materials

The need to use wall-to-wall carpeting makes for warm as well as comfort. However, one of the best renovation tips is to ask the installer to use different materials for waterproofing and insulation.

One of the best ways to heat up the basement is to use under-floor heating which is a great way. You can also layer up some soft floor runners and rugs as well.

Utilize Under-staircase Space

This is usually wasted space most of the time, but with the right strategy, you can do something about it. You can use this space for storage, or use it for a wet bar.

Know the Right Furniture Size

When planning and placing an order for furniture, make sure you measure the width, height as well as the turning radius of the stairs to the basement. This is because you don’t want to be caught stuck in the middle of the stairs with a furniture piece that won’t fit down the stairs.

Use Lighting the Right Way

When making your spaces more liveable, you need to make sure you add some lights to make the basement better. Play with a host of lighting options to choose the one that suits your needs. Choose fixtures that you can afford, and that adds some glam to the space.

If the ceiling lights are lower, then go for recessed lights which are better.  For laundry spaces, make use of under cabinet lighting and then add a few decorative fixtures that add to the task and mood lighting.

Have the Right Tools

When it comes to working on your basement, you need to have some skills to convert it into the space that you desire. For one, you need a stud finder from Stud Locator to identify where the studs have been placed so that you can install items on the wall. The stud locator makes it ideal for so many tasks that need you to put the item on the wall.

It doesn’t take time for you to redesign your basement to get the best space to add to your home.

With the right design, you add to the value of the home and make it more liveable. You can use the basement as a way to make your home more valuable and attract offers.

Have Fun with the Finishes

Adding layer upon layer of patterns and textures throughout the basement adds to the character and the interest. For instance, go for tiles and mixed metals to bring out your personality.

The Bottom-line

You can use the basement to your advantage without having to break the bank. With the right design, you don’t have to add an extension to your house. It takes more than just throwing around a few items to create the effect you need.

Winter Can Be A Difficult Time of Year

Every season has its’ own unique characteristics and people who love each one. Summer is the season for beach trips and family vacations. Spring is the time for fresh flowers and the senior prom for high school students. Fall is the time when people get to have their favorite pumpkin spice latte and enjoy the beauty of leaves changing color. Winter is the time for building snowmen and hitting the slopes. If you live in particular areas of the United States, like New England or the upper Midwest, winter is a time that can pose some serious downfalls. Winter is a difficult time and there are a lot of things about winter that can make life really difficult to deal with.

From December to the middle of March, snow and ice are things that are a regular occurrence and they can make life really difficult. One of the worst parts is having to shovel it out of the walkways and driveways so people can still get out and do what they need to. Snow removal is a major consideration for homeowners and renters alike. When ice is added into the mix, the removal can become so much more difficult and require the use of salt and sometimes other tools as well. Ice will make this removal require so much more work to get it out of the way and safe. They have to make sure that this is accounted for once winter comes. Regardless of the weather, jobs and errands are still in demand of people’s attention.

People in these areas of the country have to have a whole separate wardrobe just for the winter. In the fall, they have to switch out the spring and summer clothes for the winter clothes they are going to need.  People who go out in the winter weather are going to have to bundle up with multiple layers of clothing. Snow boots, gloves, hats, thermal pants and shirts, and snow pants will be necessary just to go out to the grocery store in the wintertime. Not only can it be uncomfortable to layer up like this, it is going to triple the amount of laundry that is going to accumulate in a household. This makes the laundry chore take twice as long, if not longer, to be completed. It is no doubt that everyone in these areas of the country, at some point or another, has stepped in snow that has been tracked into their home and that is so annoying.

The extreme weather conditions can also make it very difficult to get around. Just because it snows, people still have to go to work and life still continues. It will make their commutes to and from work a lot longer than they normally would be. This weather often causes a host of accidents, crashes, and sliding off the road, even for experienced drivers. Anyone who has to drive in these conditions will say that if they have the option, they will definitely call out of work and stay home. Driving in weather like this is also very difficult to teach to new drivers. It is difficult for great drivers, the thought of a teenager or new driver going out in it can be stressful and cause many people to not go anywhere at all. One thing that can drive parents’ crazy is when school is canceled because it is too dangerous for the kids to go to school. They are going to be stuck at home, cooped up in the house and that is never fun for anyone.

Winter weather is never easy. The idea of cabin fever is so true. Once spring comes people will be outside because they have been cooped up without any real sunshine for a number of months. Snow removal, travel, work commutes, and layers of clothing are just the tip of the iceberg. It can be really depressing when you are dealing with a long, harsh winter. All people who deal with these winters want spring to come so they can go outside and have some fun without having to freeze or shovel some snow. Winter can get old and frustrating really quickly.
